Please Purchase 'Nightmares & Daydreams' and help support a worthy cause!!

Lia Scott Price, Horror Author/ Film Producer is the creator of Serial Killer and Vampire Guardian Angels (™). She has self-published 11 books and produced feature films and film shorts. One of her memorable films ‘Dominion’ featuring Rainn Wilson (House of a Thousand Corpses) is a raw, gritty documentary-style Vampire film, filled with suspense and horror. The following is a quote from Rainn Wilson, "Early on in my career I did a short, low budget film for Lia Scott Price called "Dominion". Several of my actor friends had worked with her before and I was a fan of her dark, funny, horror writing. Artists like Lia, working with super-low budgets, out of the mainstream, need to be supported. She's got a singular, sick vision and is a hell of a lot of fun. (No pun intended) I urge you to check out her stuff!" --Rainn Wilson, Actor (The Office)

I know Lia as a caring and supportive friend. While working as a struggling writer, trying to make my mark in the literary world, Lia’s advice and support regarding my career has been invaluable. A busy schedule as writer, producer, and CEO of Lia Scott Price Productions Inc. she still finds time to support various charitable causes. The concern over recent cut backs, regarding creative writing courses in a higher education university, of which experienced severe budget cuts, reductions in staff, and classes, sparked her loyal attention. She personally set aside a student trust fund and is donating her books and film royalties, including the full use of her works.

I’m sure we will all agree, as writer’s and author’s, creative writing courses in our schools are essential for educating and developing young creative minds.

I’ve decided to join my friend, Lia, in donating to this worthy cause. For the next three months, starting today July 26, 2009, or until my own personal goal is set, I will donate fifty percent of my earnings from the sales of my e-book

Spine Tingling Entertainment - (Thomas Hayden on 9 July 2009)
A friend suggested this book of short stories to me, and I'm glad he did! It was a mixture of genre... I would best describe it as a hybrid genre. Each story while unique, contained a mixture of horror, paranormal, suspense, and a touch of romance. I would love to read more from this author.

Hollowing Screams

Shannon had not been asleep for long when a loud noise from downstairs startled her. Frightened, Shannon hid behind the bedroom door peeking out with one eye so she could see the stairway down the hall. The noise grew louder and sounded as if someone was violently banging pots and pans together.
“Shannon wake your ass up and get down here! I need your help right now!”
Shannon called out from behind the door. “Mama, what’s wrong?”
There was silence and then her mother’s voice rang louder. “Get your ass down here right this minute, or I’ll come and drag you down those stairs.”
Struggling with each step she took Shannon crept down the long dark staircase. Every sound she heard was amplified … the creaking sound of the door as she opened it; the squeaky wood boards beneath her footsteps and the beat of her own heart.
Reaching the bottom of the stairs, she pried her fingers loose from the banister. Walking towards the kitchen, she could see her mother’s silhouette in the dim light. Nervously wrapping the drawstring of her housecoat around her index finger, she peaked into the room.
Dishes lay broken with pieces scattered about across the kitchen floor. Leaning over the sink with her back towards Shannon her mother turned around. Shannon saw that both of her mother’s arms were covered in blood.
”Did you not hear me screaming for you?” Her mother held her arms out in front of her. “Get me a towel! What took you so damn long?”
Shannon raced to the cabinet where her mother kept the towels. Her small hands trembled as she laid the towels over her mother’s arms. Urine trickled down her legs forming a puddle between her tiny little feet. Her mother calm, a light of joy almost, flashed a sinister grin.
“Let me do it. I don’t need your help and clean this mess up.”
She watched her mother walk out of the kitchen, and up the stairs, as if nothing had ever happened. Fearing what might occur if she did not do as her mother instructed, she gathered up the bloody towels and placed them in the sink. It took her eyes several minutes to focus on what she saw. In the sink lay a kitchen knife and several more towels soaked in blood. She then noticed something that looked familiar sticking out halfway between one of the towels. Uncovering the object, the tears began to flow from her eyes as she read the name on the tag. Shannon fell to her knees on the kitchen floor and curled up in a fetal position. She awoke sometime later to find her father standing over her in a drunken stupor.

A collection of thrilling short stories from Paranormal / Thriller writer Barbara Watkins.

Ranging from the psychological to the paranormal, each takes us to a dark, fascinating place. With 5 short stories and 4 poems, there’s plenty to choose from. Enjoy, as they take you beyond the boundaries of your imagination.

Beware the kindness of others. When an old windup jester is passed from a dying woman, perhaps her warning words should have been heeded. Dark events await those who treat such spirits lightly in ‘Spirits of a Jester’.

Hell hath no fury like a scorned wife, as she seeks revenge upon her cheating husband, find out his fate in ‘Deadly Addictions’.

From these, to the young man haunted by a letter from his long lost mother. She tells him about the dark place she ended up in, and the deal she made to spare his life. By giving him up, she may only have delayed the inevitable...

These great stories and more lie within this great volume, from the talented Barbara Watkins.

Written by Graeme Houston: Mythica Publishing

"It's been a long time since I picked up a short story collection, but I was rewarded this time with an absolute gem." - Gregory Alter, writer, novelist.

Independent publishers and small presses are where new and exciting authors are finding their feet, and shaking up the industry. As a small publisher, Mythica Publishing is not encumbered by the massive overheads that throttle larger publishers. Because of this we are able to publish the stuff that deserves to be published, not just the stuff that’s profitable. My New Novel, 'Hollowing Screams' & Info On Writers Conference

Wow, where do I start! I'm still seeking representation for my latest novel, 'Hollowing Screams.' I participated in the Heartland Writers guild conference this past Saturday in Cape Girardeau, and I must say it was quite informative. Several agents and publishers were there along with some distinguished author's. Author Robert Vaughan, founder of HWG has sold nearly 300 titles, and 20 million books. Vaughan's Write on the Beach annual writing event, is referred to as one of the most unique and productive writing seminars in the country.

Among agents, publishers, and writer's at the Heartland Writers conference were, Greg Tobin, Stephany Evans, Susan Swartwout, Bobbie Smith, Susan McBride, Charlotte Hubbard, Sharon Hohler, and Ken Gilbert.

One of the most informative things a writer can do is join and participate in a writers group. For more info visit www.wizardsofwords.org and www.heartlandwriters.org

I've been tagged

Okay, so a good author/writer friend of mine tagged me, Mary J Dressel. I'm supposed to tell you seven interesting things about myself. So, here I go. But first, I'm going to invite some friends of mine to play along. Rules are as follows.

The rules: Tell seven random and/or interesting things about myself. Get five blog buddies to play, too and link to their blogs. Don't forget to post the rules.

1# I was only fifteen when I had my first son, Steven Dale Watkins, and me and my husband have been married for thirty-two years.

2# I had my first paranormal experience when I was eight years old, and it had an astounding effect on my life.

3# I have worked as a waitress, receptionist, medical field, and manager of an oil change lube.

4# I started my career in writing at the tender age of forty-three!

5# At the age of eight I lost my stepfather, (the only father I really ever knew) and that's when my paranormal experiences began.

6# I had a near death experience while vacationing in Florida three years ago when I came close to drowning in the ocean.

7# In the past three years I've learned I have more patience than I'd ever thought possible!
